Real Madrid ace Cristiano Ronaldo will walk out against Liverpool in Kiev with the chance to clinch a few landmark achievements.

Cristiano Ronaldo goes into Saturday's Champions League final against Liverpool aiming to help Real Madrid become the first club since Bayern Munich in 1976 to win a third consecutive European title. On top of that, meanwhile, the Portuguese forward has a number of other landmark achievements in his sights in Kiev...

Equalling Barcelona, Bayern and Liverpool

A Real Madrid triumph would net Ronaldo his fifth Champions League winners' medal (so far he has claimed one with Manchester United and three with Real) - and draw his personal haul of European Cups level with that of three clubs: Barcelona, Bayern and Liverpool. AC Milan (seven) and Real (13) would be the only teams with more Champions Leagues than the 33-year-old.

Joining the Champions League's five club

Cristiano has the opportunity to join an exclusive club of players to have won five Champions Leagues/European Cups, and move to within one of Gento, the competition's most decorated footballer, who has lifted six. Behind the 'Galerna del Cantábrico', there are nine players with a quintet of winners' medals: Di Stéfano, Marquitos, José María Zárraga, Héctor Rial, Juanito Alonso, Rafael Lesmes, Maldini, Alessandro Costacurta and Clarence Seedorf.

Breaking his own Champions League goal record

Another of the challenges Cristiano faces in the Ukrainian capital is reeling in his own single-season Champions League goalscoring record, which currently stands at the 17 he hit in 2013/14. He has so far netted 15 times this term, so he needs a brace to equal that mark - a final goal return that he managed against Juventus this time last year. Either way, the star is set to finish the campaign as the tournament's top scorer for a record seventh time.

Equalling Maldini's final appearance record

When the first whistle blows at the Olympic Stadium, Cristiano will equal Paolo Maldini's record for Champions League final appearances: six. Of his five so far, he has been victorious in four and lost just one, for United against Barcelona in 2009. Including the old European Cup, Maldini also tops the charts alongside Real Madrid legend Paco Gento on eight finals, with fellow Bernabéu great Alfredo Di Stéfano next on seven.
