Betis eye Oliver Torres, Denis Suarez as Ceballos alternatives

Real Betis are keen to re-sign Dani Ceballos from Real Madrid, but are also looking at Porto's Óliver Torres and Barcelona's Denis Suárez.

Real Betis coach Quique Setién continues to seek an attacking midfielder who fits his playing style, with Algerian international Ryad Boudebouz far from convincing in his first season at the LaLiga club. Betis have sounded out the possibility of re-signing Dani Ceballos from Real Madrid, but it is a deal that the Champions League holders appear likely to take some persuading to do - leading Los Verdiblancos to look at several alternatives.

Óliver Torres eyeing Spain return to relaunch career

According to Diario de Sevilla, one potential target is Atlético Madrid youth product Óliver Torres, who is now at FC Porto. The 23-year-old has not been a regular in Portugal since joining from Los Rojiblancos in a 20-million-euro deal last summer (following two loan spells at the Estádio do Dragão), and has been played in a deeper midfield position, rather than his favoured, more advanced role. Torres would be open to returning to Spain in a bid to reignite his career, although Betis would be required to dig deep to make such a move happen.

Barcelona's Denis also an option for Betis

Barcelona's Denis Suárez - once of Betis' city rivals Sevilla - is in a similar situation to Torres, having struggled to establish himself at the Blaugrana following his 2016 return to the Camp Nou. Betis vice-president Lorenzo Serra Ferrer met with the Catalans last week to enquire not only about Suárez, but also the availability of other fringe players such as Yerry Mina and Aleix Vidal, and Barça B's Carles Aleñá.
