FIFA 18 World Cup mode ratings: Spain are just as strong as ever

The latest team to get updated ratings from EA Sports ahead of the free World Cup mode is Spain.

When England's squad was released yesterday, we discovered that half of the team had received downgrades.

Spain's team is just as strong as ever though, and their lowest rated player is actually rated higher than all but five of England's lineup.

The highest rated player in Spain's team is Manchester United keeper David De Gea, who has 91 overall with 90 diving, 92 reflexes, 85 handling, 87 kicking, and 88 positioning.

Next up is Sergio Ramos, with 76 pace, 71 dribbling, 71 passing, 83 physical, and 89 defending contributing to a 90 overall rating.

Most of the team is rated around what they usually are in the game. It may be a surprise that David Silva has gone back down to 87 overall, after getting an upgrade to 89 in the winter ratings refresh.

In fact, a number of Spanish Premier League players have seen a downfall, with Azpilicueta  going all the way down to 83 overall from 86, and Morata going down to 83 from 85.

On the other hand, Nacho Monreal has seen a nice jump up to 82 overall from 80.

As a squad, Spain has one of the highest combined ratings out of any nation in the game. 82 is actually the lowest rating in the entire line up, with the likes of David Villa and Juan Mata sitting there.

Compare that to England's ratings, where only five players (Kane, Sterling, Walker, Alli, Rose) are rated 82 or above, and it's clear EA Sports doesn't rate England's chances of lifting the World Cup this year very highly.
