Louis Vuitton unveils official World Cup trophy case ahead of Russia tournament

High end fashion house Louis Vuitton have unveiled their official World Cup trophy case which is to store the most decorated piece of silverware in football.

The French luxury brand have offered their services to produce the bespoke piece for the coveted Jules Rimet, along with teaming up with tournament sponsors Adidas to create a match ball 'collection trunk.'

The custom made case will feature at the tournament out in Russia where the trophy will be presented to the 21st victors of the quadrennial tournament.

The case features laser-engraved monogram titanium and the brand's globally recognised print.

Louis Vuitton is a popular selection among football's big names, with the likes of World Cup pin-up star Neymar often seen both wearing the brand's clothing and attending fashion shows detailing the latest collections.

An unveiling of the case was made at the Louis Vuitton headquarters in the Asnieres-sur-Seine district of Paris this week, where former France star Frank Leboeuf held the trophy aloft with Russian model Natalia Vodianova.

The brand's collaboration with Adidas has also seen the production of a match ball collection trunk - a luxury piece which is soon to be auctioned at a Naked Heart Foundation gala charity.

The limited edition creation comes with 14 footballs - 13 of which are specially-made re-editions of official Adidas World Cup match balls spanning the eras.

Also included in the set is a Louis Vuitton natural cowhide leather football which is set to be available to purchase separately online.

The official trophy case is set to be presented at the opening and final match of the tournament on June 14 and July 15.

Russia are set to get proceedings under way when they face Saudi Arabia at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow.
