Manchester United reveal £110 blue third kit for 2018-19 season

Manchester United are a club steeped in history and tradition and they've honoured that with the unveiling of one of their new strips for next season.

The Red Devils will go back to blue for the 2018-19 campaign when they wear their third kit.

United and shirt manufacturer adidas revealed the kit on Friday morning - with the design inpsired by the 50th anniversary of the club's historic first European Cup win.

The all-blue attire is a flashback to the past in 1968 when Sir Matt Busby's men beat Benfica 4-1 after extra-time at Wembley to become the first English side to win the European Cup.

And fast-forward 50 years, the class of 2018-19 will be hoping to repeat the feat with the club's fourth European Cup.

The price of the official shirt is costly - setting an adult male back £109.95 via the adidas website.

The replica men's jersey will cost £64.95 with the replica shorts an additional £34.95. The price of the socks are yet to be disclosed.

Home-grown product, and adidas athlete, Jesse Lingard stars in the video promoting the new United kit which also includes flashbacks to that 1968 triumph.

The Red Devils have gone environmental friendly with the new design which has been created from Parley Ocean Plastic in partnership with Parley for the Oceans.

As well as creating awareness of the issue of plastic in our oceans, adidas and Parley also create footwear and clothing from upcyled plastic waste intercepted from shorelines, beaches and in coastal communities.
