All Football Power Rankings of the Week (May 8, 2018): Real overtake Barca to rank on top

Hello again! We organize clubs of Europe's top 5 leagues into an order that reflects the up-to-the-minute hierarchy every Tuesday.

The rankings are a season-long measurement of clubs, tracking teams throughout 2017-18 and taking into account results from all competitions. Our rankings consider advanced stats, full-season play and recent performance with some gut feeling mixed in.

Sides that have lost the fewest games naturally rank higher—though the strength of opposition met in a loss is considered—and both UEFA Champions/Europa League form and presence are used as tiebreakers for those with similar records. Teams that gather big wins against strong opponents get a boost.

10. PSG

Hours after Neymar returned to the French capital to continue his recovery from a broken foot following a two-month stay in his native Brazil, PSG suffered 2-2 draw against Amiens.

9. Chelsea

Olivier Giroud scored the only goal of the game as Chelsea kept their top-four hopes alive with a 1-0 victory over Liverpool at Stamford Bridge.

8. Manchester United

Pascal Gross' second-half header guaranteed Brighton's Premier League status following a 1-0 win over a flat Manchester United.

7. Atletico Madrid

Atletico Madrid have beaten Arsenal 1-0 in the Europa League to reach a fifth continental final in nine seasons and deny outgoing manager Arsene Wenger a last attempt at an international trophy with the Gunners. But their hopes of becoming La Liga runners-up suffered a blow as Espanyol inflicted a first home defeat of the season on Diego Simeone's side.

6. Juventus

Juventus came from behind with three second-half goals to beat Bologna and put them just one point away from a seventh successive Serie A title.

5. Liverpool

Liverpool are through to the Champions League final even though they lost 4-2 in their second leg semi-final against Roma. And they lost 1-0 to Chelsea on Sunday.

4. Manchester City

Manchester City get the trophy, Huddersfield Town get a vital point.

3. Bayern Munich

Bayern were knocked out of Champions League semi-final by Real Madrid. On Sunday, Robert Lewandowski scores then sulks as Bayern beat Cologne 3-1.

2. Barcelona

Lionel Messi helped 10-man Barcelona remain undefeated in the league after drawing 2-2 with Real Madrid on Sunday in a testy El Clasico.

1. Real Madrid

Real Madrid hang on against resurgent Bayern Munich to reach another Champions League final. On Sunday, Gareth Bale's strike in El Clasico not enough to end Barcelona's unbeaten La Liga campaign.

Points for each team are based on All Football Power Rankings System. Feel free to leave your thoughts in the comments section. See you next week!
