Arsenal's Under-23s have won the Premier League 2 title for the first time since 1990 after a comfortable victory over West Ham.

A brace for Eddie Nketiah and a goal for Reiss Nelson put Arsenal 3-0 up before Domingos Quina scored for West Ham with eight minutes to play.

The win put the young Gunners five points ahead of Liverpool, who have just one game left to play.

It was Arsenal's 13th win of the season and took them to 42 points in total at the top of the table.

The news of Arsene Wenger's imminent departure as boss of the first team could have acted as a distraction, but Steve Gatting's side demonstrated their professionalism.

The Hammers struggled early in the game to contain Arsenal and after 21 minutes they were behind.

A flowing move eventually reached Nelson on the left of the West Ham penalty area.

Nelson managed to move into space before firing into the bottom corner at the London Stadium.

Arsenal would need only to wait just six more minutes for their second goal.

This time it would be Nketiah with the strike but not until after some clever work by quick full back Tolaji Bola.

Bola ran down the left and executed a quality cross which Nketiah finished at the near post.

The  title was sealed with just 20 minutes left when Nketiah latched onto Nelson's pass to convert a third goal.

Domingos Quina scored a late consolation goal for West Ham but it was too late to matter as Arsenal capped off a memorable season by celebrating the Premier League 2 title.
