Schalke 04 boss gives Baba fitness update ahead of Freiburg meeting

There was good news about the Ghanaian in Domenico Tedesco's fitness update ahead of Saturday's clash with Freiburg

Schalke 04 manager Domenico Tedesco has given a positive indication that fit-again full-back Baba Rahman is on course to make his second debut for the club.

Yet to make an appearance since rejoining the Royal Blues from English giants Chelsea on loan in January, the Ghana international, earlier this week, revealed his readiness to play his first game, having overcome a knee injury picked up while on international duty in January last year.

“The lads who stayed here [during the international break] worked very hard,” Tedesco said in his fitness update ahead of Saturday's Bundesliga tie with Freiburg.

“Nabil [Bentaleb] returned early from the national team with minor muscle issues. The medical staff knew what to do and now he’s back in full training.

"Nothing dramatic but we have given him rest. Now he's feeling good.

“Thilo Kehrer is fit. His eye is still red but it’s not bothering.

"Baba Rahman is also on a good track."

Baba made 13 appearances involving seven starts for Schalke during his first spell last season.
