Alexis Sanchez receives parking fine while dining out with girlfriend Mayte Rodriguez

Alexis Sanchez has clearly struggled to adapt to life at Manchester United and it appears the struggling Chilean forward hasn't quite grasped the parking laws in his new area either.

Sanchez took his girlfriend Mayte Rodriguez out for a lunch at Cibo restaurant in  Wilmslow on Friday, but returned to his car to find he had been issued a parking ticket after leaving his Range Rover on a double yellow line.

As they dined on fine Italian cuisine, a traffic warden, hard at work over the Easter weekend, swooped on the swanky motor and stuck one of those little bright yellow bags on the windscreen.

It didn't appear to ruin the couple's afternoon as Rodriguez barely took notice of the fine as she stepped back into the passenger seat. The Manchester United star even stopped for a photo with some local fans.

Sanchez will, however, have to take some money out of his wages to pay the penalty. The fine is likely to be a 'Level Two' charge, meaning he will have to pay £70 to Cheshire East council. However, paying within two weeks will see the fine drop to £35.

Not that finding the money will be a problem for the 29-year-old, who enjoys a huge weekly income in the region of £600,000-a-week when his Manchester United wage and commercial deals are combined.

There is likely to be a player liaison at Old Trafford who can sort it out, leaving him free to focus on regaining his form for Jose Mourinho's side ahead of the Premier League's return this weekend.

Sanchez has scored just one goal since his January move from Arsenal and was dropped for Manchester United's last game, a 2-0 win over Brighton and Hove Albion in the FA Cup.

He is likely to start against Swansea City on Saturday but Mourinho will want to see a significant improvement from his marquee star.
