Ajax starlet Kasper Dolberg has quashed any talk of a move away from the club after insisting he wants to stay with the Eredivisie giants next season.

The young forward has enjoyed a brilliant breakthrough campaign in Ajax's first team, scoring 15 times in 28 league matches as well as firing the club to the Europa League final, and has attracted headlines all season.

And the Dane, who has attracted interest from both Manchester United and Manchester City, looks set to remain in the Dutch capital for at least another season.

'I will stay next season at Ajax,' he told Elf Voetbal. 'I want to get better and score more goals.'

Furthermore, Dolberg, who is under contract with the club until 2021, recently said talk of him moving to the Premier League is too soon as he barely saw himself in the Ajax first team this season.

'It's too big a step to go to City or United now,' he told FourFourTwo. 'It's important to keep on playing, as I don't know what could happen in the future.

'I haven't got a dream league. When I was young it was Barcelona [that was my favourite team], but once I got older I didn't have one. In England, I followed Arsenal because of Thierry Henry, but it wasn't like Arsenal was my favourite.

'My goal [this season] was to play for Ajax's reserve team, become their best player and maybe get a few matches in the first team.

'But then Arek Milik went to Napoli and I got the chance. Then in the first game of the season I played and scored against PAOK in a Champions League qualifier. From that point I was motivated.'

Dolberg played a crucial role in Ajax's Europa League semi-final triumph against Lyon, scoring two goals in the club's 5-4 aggregate win over the Ligue 1 side.

And the 19-year-old will be hoping to put United to the sword in the final at the Friends Arena in Stockholm on Wednesday, May 24.
