Chelsea drew 2-2 away to Qarabağ in their last Champions League fixture. Following the match, João Pedro told reporters that the Blues still have much to learn if they are to challenge for the title or secure European football again next season.

Joao Pedro stated: "We can learn a great deal. We're competing in the Champions League, and if we wish to win matches, we must maintain one hundred per cent focus throughout the entire game.

"We need to learn how to sustain concentration for the full duration, because if we start dropping points in the Premier League, qualifying for the Champions League again next year will prove very difficult."

Despite starting in his preferred number ten position, João Pedro had a relatively quiet game in Baku. It is well known he has been playing through injury, but he played down the severity of the problem.

João Pedro added: "They're trying to manage the injury. I'm fine, I feel good, I want to play every game. I try to keep myself ready, it's tough, but I want to play every game."
