Mbappe scores twice in three minutes as Real Madrid stretch lead against Levante

Real Madrid are well on their way to a sixth win from six in La Liga, having scored twice in quick succession to make it 4-1 against Levante at the Ciudad de Valencia.

The hosts had a couple of big chances to score early on, but they were made to pay as Vinicius Junior opened the scoring for Real Madrid with his third goal of the season – and the La Liga leaders have doubled their advantage soon after as Franco Mastantuono netted for the first time since his summer arrival from River Plate.

Levante were left reeling by those two goals, but they reduced the arrears shortly after the half time interval courtesy of Karl Etta-Eyong. That gave hope to the hosts, but that has now been firmly extinguished by Kylian Mbappe.

On 64 minutes, Mbappe was fouled inside the penalty area, which allowed the Real Madrid number 10 to score from 12 yards.

And two minutes later, he was played in behind by Arda Guler, and after taking the ball around Levante goalkeeper Mat Ryan, he finished into the empty net for his second goal in double quick time.
