Ahead of the latest clash between the two teams, Ryan Giggs has recalled the words with inspired his team to end the 49-game unbeaten run

Ryan Giggs has revealed the team-talk Sir Alex Ferguson gave to inspire Manchester United to end Arsenal's Invincibles' unbeaten run.

Goals from Ruud van Nistelrooy and Wayne Rooney, on his 19th birthday, saw the Gunners' record-breaking run end at 49 games in October 2004, with Arsene Wenger & Co. yet to win a league title since.

Chelsea went on to win their first Premier League title that season, with Jose Mourinho's side losing just once all season, and now the Portuguese welcomes Arsenal to Old Trafford on Saturday.

Giggs has remembered the inspirational words the legendary manager said ahead of the game and underlined that Arsenal's moment was over.

"I will never forget the team talk from Sir Alex before the game between us and Arsenal in October 2004," Giggs wrote in the Telegraph.

"They were league champions and on a 49-game undefeated run. Although it was already a record, that half-century would have made it even more special. Sir Alex stood before us that day and reminded us of our responsibilities as United players.

"'We are the kind of club that should be setting those sorts of records,' he said. The message was clear.

"Arsenal had enjoyed their moment but it had to stop now, and we were the team to do it."
