Active Ajax 'reach personal agreement' with Valladolid winger Raul Moro

Ajax are set to make another move on the market after reportedly agreeing on personal terms with Real Valladolid winger Raul Moro.

The 22-year-old Moro was set to join the Amsterdam giants in January when a shoulder injury prevented his transfer from completing. The Spanish winger stayed at Valladolid, with whom he could not avoid relegation from LaLiga.

However, Ajax refused to cancel their pursuit of the nifty winger. On Tuesday came to a personal agreement with Moro a day after Spain's 1-1 draw against Italy at the U21 Euros, according to De Telegraaf.

Moro, who played one year in FC Barcelona's La Masia before being sold to Lazio for €6 million at 16, and Ajax reportedly agreed on a 5-year deal.

The 36-time Dutch champions will now try to strike a deal with Real Valladolid, who are about to enter a takeover process after Brazilian legend Ronaldo Nazario sold his majority stake in May. According to De Telegraaf, Ajax and technical director Alex Kroes have "good hope" of soon agreeing on a transfer fee with Valladolid.

'Ajax appealed to me'

After Spain's 2-1 win over Romania at the U21 Euros in Slovakia, Moro spoke to the press about his potential transfer to Ajax in January and said it was the club's decision not to let him leave. "They didn't want to accept the offer. The club decides, and I must respect that," Moro told AS.

"We weren't going to argue about it either. The offer appealed to me because Ajax is a club that competes for the title in its country and plays in the Champions League. Who wouldn't want to play in the Champions League? The Eredivisie is also very attractive for young players."

Moro always said he'd like to stay in Spain, but admits an interesting offer from abroad could change things. "If I were to leave, I would want a project where I am truly wanted, not a transfer motivated by agents or technical directors. I want the coach to want me, that's clear.

"If Ajax make an offer, you will naturally find that interesting too. If the foreign options also appeal to me, I have no problem going elsewhere."

Moro played 34 games in all competitions for Real Valladolid last season, scoring five goals and providing six assists. At the U21 Euros, he has recorded two assists in three games for La Roja.
