With the lack of a striker at Arsenal, Rio Ferdinand has suggested the Gunners go for Karim Benzema.

At 37-years-old, Karim Benzema, a Ballon d’Or winner, continues to showcase the goal-scoring instinct that has defined his career. His exceptional footwork enables him to seamlessly link up with teammates, a rare talent possessed by few players in the world.

Once again, the French striker made his mark by scoring Al Ittihad’s opening goal in their recent game, spearheading another victory in Saudi Arabia. The team is now tied at the top of the Saudi Pro League with Al Hilal.

‘I’d go for Benzema. Six months on loan'

Meanwhile, after Arsenal’s derby win over Tottenham, Mikel Arteta addressed what many Arsenal fans have been longing to hear: “We are definitely looking at the market to strengthen our attack. We’ve lost two key players—Bukayo for three months and Gabriel Jesus for an extended period,” he told TNT after the match.

The lack of a marquee striker signing in recent transfer windows has caused frustration among some Arsenal supporters. As of now, Kai Havertz, despite not being a natural striker, is the only player available to fill the No. 9 role. Recent performances have seen him deployed in the role up top, only to miss some wonderful opportunities to put the ball over the line, fuelling fury amongst the fanbase.

Manchester United legend and TNT Sports analyst Rio Ferdinand offered his take on Arsenal’s attacking woes, suggesting a bold move: “I’d go for Benzema. Six months on loan. Let’s make it happen—where are you, Arsenal fans?”

Benzema’s current form is undeniable. He has scored 11 goals in the ongoing Saudi Pro League season, tied with Cristiano Ronaldo and just one behind Aleksandar Mitrović, who leads with 12 goals.
