The former Kariobangi Sharks striker did not hide his feelings towards his coach

Kenyan international, Masoud Juma wants to follow in the footsteps of childhood idol, former South African striker, Benni McCarthy.

Masoud, the reigning Kenyan Premier League top scorer, signed for the South African side, Cape Town City FC in January.

That dream move would reunite the Kenyan Premier League Golden Boot winner with his idol, McCarthy, a former FC Porto, Blackburn Rovers and West Ham United striker, who also happens to be the coach of Cape Town City FC.

The former Kariobangi Sharks striker did not hide his feelings towards his coach whom he would want to follow his illustrious career.

“I used to be Benni McCarthy's fan, and now I’m being coached by him, so it’s amazing. I’m really enjoying being under him, and I hope I follow in his footsteps to become a better striker in the future," said Masoud.

“It’s amazing, and an honour being here. It’s a dream of every player where I come from to play in such a big league. I’m here to work and to score, as I do, which is my job and what I like to do."

It remains to be seen whether Masoud would follow in the footsteps of McCarthy by moving to Europe after his spell in South Africa.
