Athletic to raid Real Sociedad for Inigo Martinez

Athletic Club are ready to raid local rivals Real Sociedad for defender Inigo Martinez and pay his 32 million euro buy-out clause to replace Aymeric Laporte according to the newspaper El Correo.

It is claimed that the centre-half, who has been linked to Barcelona in the past, would become the best paid player in the squad with a yearly net salary of 5 million euros, and he has already told Sociedad his plans to leave with the offer "irresistible".

Athletic are expected to make the payment of Martinez's buy-out clause on Tuesday.
