Genoa close on Medeiros

Genoa are on the verge of signing winger Iuri Medeiros from Sporting CP on an 18-month loan with option to buy for a total €12.2m.

According to both Sky Sport Italia and Sportitalia, a deal has practically been done to bring in Medeiros on an 18-month loan from Sporting CP.

The cost of the loan is believed to be €1.2m with an option to buy for another €11m.

The 23-year-old is a right-sided winger who can also play on the left or as a support striker if required.

So far this season, Medeiros has contributed one goal and one assist in 12 competitive games for the Portuguese club.

He came up through the Sporting academy, but spent last term on loan at Boavista.
