Ousmane Dembele signs himself for Liverpool on Football Manager

The Borussia Dortmund wonder-kid has caused quite a stir with the revelation that he signed himself for the Premier League club on the popular management sim

Since arriving in Germany from Rennes in the summer, the 19-year-old has become a firm favourite with Borussia Dortmund fans thanks to his flamboyant style of play.

But, during the recent trip with the France national team to play Ivory Coast, the winger shunned the social media antics of team-mates such as Paul Pogba and Patrice Evra, and was instead filmed giving an update on his Liverpool side in the latest version of Football Manager.

"I played one season in Lorient then I signed for Liverpool," said Dembele, pointing to his computer screen.

Dembele joined Thomas Tuchel's side despite interest from some of Europe's biggest hitters, including Barcelona and Bayern Munich, but there would be no surprise if Liverpool fans envisaged a future move to Anfield to work with former Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp.

The youngster started in France's 0-0 stalemate with Ivory Coast on Tuesday night but was hauled off at half-time after failing to make an impression.

We wonder whether he would have taken himself off if he were in charge.
