Birmingham eye Feyenoord defender Miquel Nelom

Birmingham are showing an interest in Feyenoord left-back Miquel Nelom.

The defender, who has two caps for Holland, is out of contract in the summer and Feyenoord are listening to offers this month to ensure they don’t lose Nelom on a Bosman at the end of the season.

The 27-year-old has been a regular for the Eredivisie club in recent seasons and played in Feynoord’s Champions League loss to Manchester City in September.

Nelom played a key role in the Dutch club’s championship triumph last season.

But the full-back is open to a move to England and Birmingham manager Steve Cotterill is keen on signing the defender this month.

Birmingham are 23rd in the Championship table, two points from safety and one point in front of last-placed Sunderland.
