PSG manager Luis Enrique unmoved by Kylian Mbappé future uncertainty

Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique is seemingly unmoved by developments in the Kylian Mbappé (25) affair. The France captain is now free to discuss a pre-contract agreement with another club.

Mbappé has now entered the final six months of his PSG contract, and as a result, he is now free to negotiate with other clubs. It was reported by The Athletic that Real Madrid are set to make a limited-time offer to Mbappé, which requires a response by mid-January.

However, according to L’Équipe, there is now optimism that Mbappé could extend his current deal at PSG. That optimism is based on the AS Monaco academy product’s current happiness at the Parc des Princes. At the time of writing, however, there are no signs of renewal talks.

As well as Real Madrid, Saudi Arabia could renew their interest following Al-Hilal’s failed bid to sign the Frenchman for a world-record fee in the summer. Liverpool are also a serious candidate to sign the PSG forward, according to Le Parisien.

Only Mbappé knows his plans for the future, and Luis Enrique is seemingly not wasting his time deliberating the issue. “How will I manage [the uncertainty over Mbappé’s future]? As I always have done up to this point,” said the Spaniard in a press conference on Tuesday.

He added, “It isn’t an issue that depends on me. I am not the one to respond to this question.” The PSG manager is clearly keen to avoid the topic of Mbappé’s future, which has the capacity to disrupt in the coming weeks and months.
