Gerardo "Tata" Martino may have started a coming trend in MLS.

The Argentine, who led Atlanta United to one of the best inaugural seasons in league history in 2017, could in the future have a compatriot leading a rival team in North America.
Claudio Borghi, a World Cup winner as a player for Argentina in 1986 and subsequently an experienced manager around South America, recently explained he is intrigued by MLS and is interested in coaching here.
Translation: "MLS is a very attractive league to coach in. There are good projects and it would be an interesting life change for me and my family."
Borghi, 53, enjoyed an extensive playing career in Europe and South America. Getting his start at Argentinos Juniors alongside Diego Maradona, he made a high-profile transfer to AC Milan, but he never got to play there due to a cap on the number of foreign players allowed at Serie A teams at the time. After returning to South America, he played for a series of teams in Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Mexico before retiring in 1999.
As a manager, Borghi started in Chile in 2004, finding success there before moving to Argentina, coaching several sides including powerhouse side Boca Juniors. In 2011, he found his highest-profile job yet, taking the helm of the Chilean national team after the departure of Marcelo Bielsa. After leaving that job in 2012, he's since coached clubs in Argentina and Ecuador.
