The Saudi PL is not a threat to Europe league in short-run but as an emerging markets, it's a threat in long-run or put in other dimensions "a competitor" for commercial sponsorship. If you critically analyse the trend of players movement to Saudi compared to when Major League & Chinese League sprouts up then there was a great dichotomy in embracement, the players that moved to later two then were average, weaker & aged with little commercial brand & few social media followers while Saudi PL started their adventure with big fish CR7 with lots of commercial endorsement, follow with Benzema, Firminho, Fabinho, Sadio Mane, Militrovic, Veratti, Steve Gerald, Mancini etc these are people with lots of commercial endorsement and followers in social media, the only luck Europe league get was that Lionel Messi didn't join the train despite that it will be sooner than later when Saudi PL will be earnings heavy TV broadcast right like European counterpart.

This is just click bait. On average only 1 in 17 free kicks result in a goal. And many teams don't try for direct free kick goals, They usually try to get it to tall players who can get headers. Barca stats are pretty normal. It's only when u compare it to a freak of nature like Leo Messi, Barca looks like underperforming. U really don't expect every FK to be a goal unless the taker is Leo Messi, Ward-Prowse, young CR7 or Juninho. It's just that Messi in later years have been insanely sucessful. Man at one point has more FK goals than entire European powerhouse clubs. Just GOAT things.  Just look at this poster from ESPN in 2020
