Remy and Oussama to become Las Palmas' first casualties of Jemez era

Ahead of the January transfer window, Loic Remy and Oussama Tannane are set to become the first casualties under Paco Jemez at Las Palmas after the coach informed the club that neither player is part of his plans moving forward.

After spending two days with his staff, Jemez has made several decisions on the shape of his team especially with the club working to bring Jese Rodriguez back on loan, plans which publicised on Friday morning.

"I have told the president to find alternative destinations for Remy and Tannane," he explained during an interview with the El Larguero programme on the Cadena SER station.

The issue with the former Chelsea forward may seem a bizarre one given the fact he is the team's leading goalscorer this term, however Remy wishes to leave Gran Canaria and Jemez doesn't wish to placate any players who aren't committed to the cause.

Tannane is actually on loan from Saint-Etienne but has struggled to settle in Spain, the Moroccan hasn't learnt the language and this has facilitated an inability to communicate with his teammates that has been evident on the pitch.

Further departures are expected as the former Cruz Azul coach looks to shape a team capable of avoiding relegation; Alberto Aquilani and Hernan Santana are the next two closest to the exit door.

The arrival of Gabriel Penalba has meant there is an abundance of wide players within the squad and Jemez can't afford to be oversubscribed in one single position.

David Simon is keen to play more as Las Palmas haven't been able to provide anything close to the playing time he desires and a January move hasn't been ruled out entirely.

Ximo Navarro worked with the Spanish coach at Cordoba and their relationship was positive. It's expected that Navarro will now find more playing time, something he hadn't had under the previous administration.
