Newcastle's new £52million signing Sandro Tonali has apparently wasted no time in sampling some of the city's nightlife - by popping in to a local Wetherspoons.
The Italy midfielder, who shone on his Premier League debut for the Toon in Saturday's 5-1 win over Aston Villa, was pictured in The Job Bulman pub in Gosforth.
There was plenty of excitement on social media after a fan posted a selfie with Tonali in the pub and also a picture of the table reservation made in the star's name.
Newcastle fans joked they'd happily buy him a Moretti beer through the Wetherspoons app and also wondered if he'd been stitched up by his team-mates after asking for restaurant recommendations.
Many contrasted the Spoons experience with the fine dining Tonali was probably used to when at former club AC Milan but he looked happy enough to be there.
Tonali, who was Newcastle's headline arrival of the summer when he became the most expensive Italian player of all-time, made an impressive start at St James' Park on Saturday night.
The 23-year-old opened the scoring after six minutes, with further goals by Alexander Isak (two), Callum Wilson and Harvey Barnes ensuring the perfect start to the campaign.
'It was wonderful, the first real game,' he told Sky Sport Italia after the win.
'I let myself go, we really enjoyed ourselves, especially as the game went so well, just as we had prepared it. It was impossible not to enjoy today.
'It is one thing to dream and another to experience it. Reality is different. I am happy with how it went, now I will go home, relax and rest, then I might realise what happened.'
Tonali added: 'It is a very different reality to Milan and everything has to change, even yourself to a degree. You don't do the same things you did before, you don't meet up with the same friends that you had.
'It's a very different lifestyle, but I will always be professional. I felt the warmth of the fans, they were cheering me on from the start. Speaking to the coach [Eddie Howe] after the match, I realised how happy he was and how much he likes me.'
Newcastle head to Treble winners Manchester City for their second league assignment of the season on Saturday night.
