Atlético Madrid interested in bringing back Theo Hernandez from Milan

With the sudden and unexpected dismissal of Milan technical director Paolo Maldini throwing into doubt the futures of several players, French international Théo Hernandez could be one of several leaving the Champions League semi-finalists this summer.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Atlético Madrid are notably interested in bringing the wide man back to the Spanish capital, although the Rossoneri have set an asking price worth above the €80m which has been quoted to Newcastle for the transfer of Sandro Tonali. An offer has yet to come in for the Frenchman, however.

Like his older brother Lucas, Théo Hernandez came through the youth ranks with Los Colchoneros, but took a somewhat more sinuous path to his current club, as he turned out for all of Deportivo Alavés, Real Madrid and Real Sociedad before his transfer to Italy. He has been a full French international since 2021, and notably scored in the World Cup semi-final win this past season over Morocco.
