Arsenal transfer news: Leicester defender Timothy Castagne has been linked with a move to Arsenal after impressing with his versatility for the Foxes

Arsenal transfer target Timothy Castagne has remained coy on his future at Leicester City, admitting his situation is "delicate" following their relegation from the Premier League.

The Gunners are expected to bolster Mikel Arteta's options at right-back this summer after suffering with injuries last season. Ben White was the Spaniard's first-choice due to Takehiro Tomiyasu's injury record, resulting in the club considering their options.

With Champions League football returning to north London in September, the need for squad depth is greater than ever. Alongside a new midfielder, a new full-back is on sporting director Edu Gaspar's list now the transfer window is officially open.

As well as interest from the Gunners, Premier League rivals Fulham, Crystal Palace and Bournemouth are all said to be monitoring his situation. A decision regarding the 27-year-old's future is expected to be made following this month's international break.

Ahead of Belgium's Euro 2024 qualifier with Austria on Saturday, Castagne was asked about his future by the local media. "I'll see what happens in the future,” Castagne said at a press conference.

“A decision will be made. It's delicate, of course. You could wait for a top club to arrive, but what if it doesn't come? I'm not thinking about that yet."

Castagne has two years left on his deal at the King Power Stadium after signing from Serie A side Atalanta in 2020. Atletico Madrid reportedly showed interest in the versatile wing-back last summer, but a return to the Premier League this time around seems likely.
