Official | Former Leicester scout Viktor Bezhani appointed Toulouse’s head of recruitment

Toulouse FC have announced the appointment of former Leicester City FC senior scout Viktor Bezhani as the senior team’s head of recruitment. Bezhani will replace former Get French Football News writer Brendan MacFarlane, who has become a European Regional Scouting Manager for treble-winning side Manchester City. Julia Arpizou was Toulouse’s interim head of recruitment after MacFarlane’s departure. Bezhani previously held the job of head of recruitment at Polish side Legia Warsaw. The Albanian was then a lead scout for Watford and Brentford.

“I am delighted to join the Toulouse Football Club and to be able to contribute to their success. It is a great joy and a great responsibility for me to be part of such an innovative project,” Bezhani said in the club statement. “We are delighted that Viktor is joining us and that he is working in collaboration with the current recruitment department and all the components of the club, from the strategic committee to the technical staff,” added Toulouse FC president Damien Comolli, who had spells in England of his own at Arsenal, Tottenham and Liverpool.

Toulouse have finished 13th this Ligue 1 season. They have qualified for the Europa League group stage as Coupe de France winners. They are however set to part ways with head coach Philippe Montanier over differences of opinion relating to the club’s strategy and the former Nottingham Forest manager’s refusal to commit his future to the Ligue 1 club.
