The Turkish side will present a second offer to Cruz Azul to sign the Mexican international during the January transfer window.

Panathinaikos has Uriel Antuna as a priority for the second part of the season and they are set to make another offer to Cruz Azul. The Liga MX side received a $3.5 million offer from the Turkish club to sign the Mexican international, but that was considered to be too low by Cruz Azul.
Panathinaikos, then, will make a second attempt and present another off to the Mexico City-based team as the January transfer window goes into full swing. It has been reported that the team managed by Matias Almeyda has offered $5 million to Cruz Azul to sign Uriel Antuna and the Mexican side are now analyzing the offer.
Antuna’s second stint in Europe
If Cruz Azul accepts the second offer for Uriel Antuna, he will be reunited with manager Matias Almeyda. The first time they worked together it was at Chivas de Guadalajara when they won the CONCACAF Champions League and Liga MX trophy. The 25-year-old will also be reunited with former teammate Orbelín Pineda, who also played at Chivas under Almeyda.
If the deal goes through, it will be the second time that Uriel Antuna plays in Europe’s top tier in his career. The Mexican international played with Manchester City U23 and FC Groningen from 2018 to 2019. Antuna could also become the third Mexican player to move to Europe following the 2022 FIFA World Cup after Guillermo Ochoa joined Salernitana and César Montes to RCD Espanyol.
