Fans go wild as Neymar flaunts his skill with an OUTRAGEOUS elastico nutmeg

Awe-struck fans swarmed to social media to applaud Neymar's outrageous elastico nutmeg against Strasbourg, as Paris Saint-Germain edged out a narrow 2-1 win on Wednesday.

The Brazilian flaunted his sublime skill on his Ligue 1 return midway through the first half as PSG dominated in the early stages, taking the lead through Marquinhos in the 14th minute.

The centre-half put the ball in his own net early in the second half to hand Strasbourg the equaliser, and matters were made worse for PSG as Neymar collected two quick yellow cards to reduce the hosts to 10 men.

Kylian Mbappe rescued the win with a spot-kick deep into stoppage time, as the reigning champions took an eight-point lead at the top of the table.

Before Neymar's needless second yellow card for diving, fans took to social media to laud the Brazilian for his dazzling piece of skill.

Picking up possession in his own half, the 30-year-old first performed a feint to off-put two Strasbourg players, before audaciously sliding the ball through the legs of Adrien Thomasson.

One fan posted on Twitter: 'I need that clip of that Neymar elastico nutmeg NOW.'

A second viewer added: 'Neymar doing what he does best. What a nutmeg. Cheeky.'

Another supporter heaped praise on the Brazilian and said: 'The elastico nutmeg will end up in the history book of Neymar compilations.'

However, several fans were unimpressed by Neymar's foolish sending off and took to social media to blast the forward, who showed a lack of sportsmanship with a 'blatant dive' in the penalty area.

One supporter wrote: 'Unfortunately for all the good Neymar does he will always let himself down with incidences like this. He is looking at the ref and can’t believe it’s not a penalty despite a blatant dive.'

Another chimed in and said: 'Omg Neymar his dive is so lame - good he got sent off for it. Ugh he's so good but does these things.'

A third fan reviewed Neymar's divisive performance by claiming that it 'sums up his career'.

'Neymar's game today sums up his career perfectly,' he said.
