Wolves 'complete the permanent signing of on-loan striker Hwang Hee-Chan'

Wolves have completed the permanent signing of South Korean striker Hwang Hee-Chan after a successful loan spell at the club, according to reports.

The 26-year-old, who turned that age on Wednesday, moved to Molineux on a season-long contract from RB Leipzig, with a view to making the transfer permanent for around £15million.

Since arriving in England, the striker has scored four goals in 15 matches for Wolves, as they continue their rise up the Premier League table under Bruno Lage.

And according to The Telegraph, Wolves have made Hwang's transfer permanent after just a few months at the club.

The South Korean forward made a goalscoring start to his time at Molineux by coming off the bench to score on his debut away at Watford and started ten consecutive games for the club between late September and early December.

But the South Korean forward has spent the last few weeks struggling with a hamstring injury and has not played since a 1-0 win at Brighton in December.

The forward revealed in a video last week that he is back on the training pitch after his injury and hopes to be back soon.

He told the video, published on Wolves' social media channels: 'After the injury, I am recovering well and have started jogging and training. I will try my best to show my best performance to the fans. Thank you for your support.'

Hwang will be hoping that he can secure European football for the Midlands club when he returns from injury, with Lage's Wolves in a strong position after some excellent winter form.

The Molineux club are on a five-match unbeaten run in the Premier League, having won their last three games against Manchester United, Southampton and Brentford.

That form took Wolves into the winter break in eighth place, four points behind Manchester United in fourth and three behind West Ham in fifth, which is a guaranteed Europa League spot.
