Andrew Robertson is a doubt for Liverpool's clash with Arsenal on Saturday after sustaining a hamstring injury in Scotland's World Cup qualifying win over Denmark.
Steve Clarke's side secured a huge victory over the Danes taking them through to a crucial World Cup play-off in four months.
But it wasn't all joy for the Scots as captain Robertson was substituted off in the 79th minute after falling to the turf.
The left back underwent a scan on Tuesday to determine the severity of the problem and, while Liverpool do not think the injury is serious, they are not prepared to take any chances, according to The Times.
Instead Kostas Tsimikas will return to deputising duty for Jurgen Klopp's side. The Greece international has proven to be an able understudy this season, providing two assists in eight games across all competitions.
Robertson's name has been added to a growing list of injuries at Anfield as Liverpool's injury woes of last season seem to be returning with a vengeance.
Hamstring injuries have plagued the Reds this season, with Roberto Firmino, Naby Keita and James Milner all suffering similar setbacks this campaign.
Elsewhere, Harvey Elliot remains sidelined, Joe Gomez is suffering from a foot injury and Curtis Jones is ruled out with an eye problem.
However, Klopp received a much-needed boost as he prepares to face Mikel Arteta's side as Sadio Mane participated in training this week and Jordan Henderson is also expected to be in contention for the league clash this weekend.
Mane was a doubt after suffering a rib injury on international duty with Senegal, and was substituted in the 28th minute of their match against Togo in African qualifying for the 2022 World Cup on Thursday.
Meanwhile, skipper Henderson had withdrawn from the England squad ahead of their 10-0 victory over San Marino on Monday.
In a further boost for the Reds boss, Elliott has returned to training just two months after injuring his ankle against Leeds United.
There is no timetable for the 18-year-old's return to action, and Milner has hailed the youngster's mental fortitude since suffering his injury,
'He's been so positive from the start, to be honest,' he said. 'I was talking about mental strength before, as soon as it happened, the things he was saying, he talks like he's been through it all before and he's a 30-odd-year-old player.
'He's incredible. He's got a great mindset, he's done all his work, he's progressing really well.'
Title-hopefuls Liverpool return to action as they host the in-form Arsenal, who sit just two points behind them despite a stuttering start to the season.
Klopp's men however have won every Premier League game at Anfield against the Gunners since their thrilling 3-3 draw in January 2016, and have won eight of the 13 matches across all competitions against them since then too.
