Brentford's promotion hero Emiliano Marcondes has no idea if he will be playing in the Premier League next season despite a man-of-the-match display in Saturday's Championship play-off final.
The Danish midfielder, 26, who scored the second in the Bees' 2-0 win against Swansea, is out of contract this summer and has yet to agree a deal with the club.
Marcondes said: 'I have been hoping and waiting for a new contract for a long time. But I have kept my concentration on the training and on the pitch, and to focus on what I can control.
'I can't control a new contract. Of course, I hope to play Premier League, it's my biggest dream. To come from a small town in Denmark and reach the Premier League would be unbelievable.'
Top scorer Ivan Toney, 25, who converted a first-half penalty yesterday, dropped a strong hint he will stay with Brentford next season despite interest from a host of Premier League clubs.
Toney: 'It's a great bunch of boys, the best dressing room I've been in and I've loved every single minute of it. I'm in the Premier League with the best bunch of boys I could ever have dreamed of.'
