Isco's damning statistics

Real Madrid do not score very many goals when Isco is in the team. This assumption has been backed up by numerical evidence.

New statistics show that we shouldn't be surprised by Real Madrid's goalless draw at home to Real Betis, considering that Isco was in the side.

In the 523 minutes Isco has spent on the pitch as a starter this season in LaLiga Santander, Los Blancos have scored just two goals, conceding six.

In the 310 minutes Isco has spent on the pitch as a substitute, Zinedine Zidane's side have scored seven goals and conceded two.

Meanwhile, with Isco not on the pitch, Real Madrid have scored 47 goals and conceded 16 in 2,137 minutes this season.

These statistics, provided by Cope's Pedro Martin on Twitter, are damning and underline the influence - or lack of it - Isco has on his teammates at both ends of the pitch.

A year of contrasts

In all competitions this season, Isco has made 26 appearances and totalled 1,012 minutes on the pitch, providing no goals, one assist and one yellow card.

He's suffered two injuries and last played the full 90 minutes of a game in the goalless draw with Getafe.

Possible summer exit

Last November, MARCA reported that Isco was open to leaving Real Madrid should the right offer rise.

It remains to be seen whether any clubs are willing to pay Real Madrid's asking price for him this summer, with his future in the Spanish capital unclear.
