Marseille lifts ban on PSG colours and shirts

A ban on Paris Saint-Germain shirts and colours being worn in Marseille has been lifted ahead of Sunday's Champions League final.

French police had implemented the ban after disturbances in the city following PSG's semi final defeat of RB Leipzig.

"There is strong animosity on the part of some Marseille residents, supporters or not, toward the PSG team, in contradiction with any sporting spirit," said police in an attempt to justify the ban upon its introduction.

But the decision was met with criticism, with clothing that was even considered to "display the colours of PSG" not permitted in Marseille.

Now, though, the ban has been lifted, meaning PSG supporters in the southern city can wear their side's colours freely.
