Cavani: I would be happy at Benfica

Edinson Cavani has flown back to Europe from Uruguay and he is rumoured to be on his way to Benfica.

As the striker passed through Montevideo's airport, he was asked about his plans and confirmed that there has been contact with the Portuguese club.

"There have been meetings with Benfica and with other clubs," he said, as reported by L'Equipe.

"But nothing has been confirmed yet and that means I can't say anything about reaching any agreement.

"Benfica are a great team, always competitive.

"They've had many great players.

"If I am lucky enough to be there then I would be happy.

"Right now I am calm and flying to Europe, where we'll see what happens in this new stage of my life.

"When everything is confirmed with a team, people will know."
