The summer transfer window for English clubs will be open for a total of 10 weeks, between July 27 and October 5.
A Premier League statement reads: “The window will open for 10 weeks at the end of the current Premier League season, starting on 27 July and ending on 5 October.
“Following consultation with the EFL [English Football League], a domestic-only window will be added from 5 October, closing 17:00 BST on 16 October.
“During this window, Premier League clubs will only be able to trade with EFL clubs (either loans or permanent registrations).
“No transfers can take place between Premier League clubs in this period. The transfer window is subject to the approval of FIFA.”
That is over a month longer than the summer transfer window for Italian sides, who only have between September 1 and October 5 to register new players.
However, as seen by Inter’s recent capture of Achraf Hakimi and Napoli’s negotiations for Victor Osimhen, there is nothing stopping them from completing deals now.
English teams will also not be able to field any new players they do sign until next season, ensuring they cannot simply poach personnel from their Italian counterparts.
