It has already been an eventful summer for Chelsea. The transfers of both Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech have been confirmed, and it seems there are more to come as the club look to reach the next level under Frank Lampard.

The focus at Chelsea is still on securing a place in the top four (or top five, as it may be if Manchester City are unsuccessful in their Champions League ban appeal).

Tuesday’s 3-2 win at Crystal Palace was an important one, taking the Blues up into third place in the Premier League.

In the background, though, rumours continue to circulate over who will be next to arrive at Stamford Bridge. Here we take a look at the latest news for Chelsea on the transfer front.

Uruguayan teenager on Chelsea’s radar

Chelsea will compete with Manchester City, Manchester United and Juventus to sign Uruguayan winger Facundo Pellistri, according to a report in Calciomercato.

The 18-year-old has impressed at Penarol in Uruguay’s top flight, and Juventus are believed to have sent scouts to watch him play.

Chelsea, though, are one of several clubs with considerable interest in the youngster, who has made 25 senior appearances.

Pellistri is under contract at Penarol until 2022, but reportedly has a release clause of £10million.

“Pellistri has huge potential,” Penarol manager Diego Forlan has said. “We know it will be difficult to keep him for a long time. He has great pace and that is hard to handle.”

Chelsea tracking youngster labelled the next Kylian Mbappe

Pellistri is not the only teenager to have caught the eye of Chelsea’s scouts. Monaco’s Malamine Efekele, just 15 years old, is also a target for the Blues, according to L’Equipe.

Efekele is expected to be the next big thing to emerge from Monaco’s prodigious academy, following in the footsteps of Mbappe.

And Chelsea are believed to be keen to move for the winger, who turns 16 later this month.

Lampard has handed opportunities to several young players this season and it seems, with interest in Efekele, he is looking towards the long-term future.

New Milan boss targets Bakayoko

AC Milan’s prospective new manager Ralf Rangnick has put together a shortlist of potential summer transfers, which includes Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko.

That is according to Italian newspaper Il Giornale, who claim the Frenchman is a top target for Rangnick.

Bakayoko has spent this season on loan at former club Monaco, having failed to make the cut at Chelsea.

He is familiar with Milan, too, having enjoyed a productive loan spell in Lombardy during the 2018/19 season.

Kante could be sold to accommodate Havertz

The Blues could be willing to sell N’Golo Kante to Real Madrid in order to make the transfer of Kai Havertz possible.

Bayer Leverkusen have set a price tag of £90m on the 21-year-old, who is also reportedly on the radar of Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.

Chelsea, having already spent on Werner and Ziyech, will have to raise funds for another big-money arrival.

That could mean the club are tempted by any offers from Los Blancos for long-time target Kante.
