Manchester City announced their signing of former Shakhtar Donetsk and Brazilian defensive midfielder Fernandinho on this day 7 years ago for a fee of about £34m, after he completed a medical.
With Manchester City preparing to bid farewell to David Silva, former Blues captain Andy Morrison says Fernandinho is the “standout candidate” to inherit the armband.
