On this day in 2017, Real Madrid won their 12th Champions League trophy after beating Juventus 4-1 in Wales.
The Galacticos became the first team in the Champions League era to win the trophy in consecutive seasons.
Ronaldo netted a brace in the final and became the top scorer in that campaign with 12 goals, 1 more than Messi. Real Madrid eliminated Napoli, Atletico and Bayern in the knock-out stage.
The Portuguese joined Clarence Seedorf and Andres Iniesta in becoming the third player to win the UCL 4 times. He also scored his 600th career goal and became the first player to score in three Champions League finals.
