Juventus are reportedly planning to keep Cristiano Ronaldo and other non-Italian players out of quarantine on their return to Italy by 'testing every player for coronavirus'.
The Turin-based side publicly announced that three players - Daniele Rugani, Blaise Matuidi and Paulo Dybala - tested positive for COVID-19 since the country went into a national lockdown on March 10.
Ronaldo left Turin and has been self-isolating with his children and girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez on the island of Madeira, in a bid to avoid catching the virus.
The Portuguese star is expected to return to Turin next weekend and the protocol as it stands would require returning foreign athletes to undertake a 14-day isolation upon arrival.
But, according to Portuguese publication OJogo, Juventus plan to circumvent that by having those players take double tests in a bid to show they are negative for the respiratory disease.
Two negative tests would allow Ronaldo and Co to then take a few days in quarantine before being allowed back into training, reintegrating with team-mates, once the government gives the green light for teams to return to the training ground.
The report goes on to add that, while double tests for players like Ronaldo would be the first step to returning back to normal, further plans are in the works to ensure there is not a second wave in their squad.
There would be daily medical tests in the first week when training resumes at their Contissa training ground.
In the second week, the Italian champions would see the squad split in three: players who have not had the virus, players who directly suffered from COVID-19 and players who did not show symptoms, but being carriers.
Rugani was the first player in Italy to contract coronavirus - revealed by the club on March 21 - while Matuidi and Dybala also produced positive tests.
Any return to training, with teams sensing it could happen in the next three weeks, Juventus staff will be boosted by what they have seen Ronaldo post online.
The five-time Ballon d'Or winner has been keeping his 212million followers on Instagram up to date with his activities.
The 35-year-old has been sharing his training routines from his home in Madeira, working hard in the gym or even using his small children as weights in a family-fun exercise.
Along with Rodriguez, he has also been maintaining his sharpness and running speed with interval training on the hill outside their current residence in Madeira.
Juventus will return trying to keep Lazio and Inter Milan at bay as they look to retain their league title.
On Tuesday, Italy's 20 Serie A teams buried their differences and unanimously agreed that they should try and complete the 2019-20 season.
Previously, several clubs, including Sampdoria and Torino, had opposed carrying on while Brescia went further, saying they would prefer to forfeit matches rather than take to the field.
