Proposal remains that Ansu Fati could play in Segunda B play-offs for Barca B

Despite being on the books for the B team, Ansu Fati has made himself a permanent fixture in the first team at Barcelona this season.

The 17-year-old took advantage of a host of injuries in attacking positions to impress at the start of the campaign and has managed to stay in the first-team squad ever since.

The idea was that, once Barcelona's first team had played all of their fixtures this season, he would return to the B team to help them in their Segunda Division B play-offs.

The coronavirus crisis has meant a change of plan for the entire football season, but this proposal for Ansu Fati to drop down to the third-tier play-offs remains.

The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) have drawn up plans to skip past the remaining league fixtures in Spain's lower leagues and go straight to play-offs to decide promotion.

Barcelona B are currently second in their Segunda B division, one point behind leaders Castellon, and they would take part in this fast-track play-offs.

When these play-offs roll around, B team coach Francisco Javier Garcia Pimienta will be able to pick Ansu Fati to try to secure promotion to LaLiga SmartBank.
