On April 20, 2018, Arsene Wenger announced he would step down as Arsenal manager after 22 years in charge.
He's considered the most successful manager in FA Cup history as well as the only manager in Premier League history to go an entire season unbeaten.
Aged 68 at the time of his departure, Wenger arrived in north London - with the club then located at Highbury - in August 1996 and won three Premier League titles and seven FA Cups - including doubles in 1998 and 2002. The Frenchman once led the Gunners to win the Premier League in 2003-04 season with an undefeated record. The run finally stretched to a record 49 games.
The Frenchman had initially signed a two-year deal in the summer of 2017 after winning the FA Cup, but fans still continued to be divided on him after they finished fifth in the Premier League - the first time Wenger had failed to secure a top-four finish in his entire tenure at Arsenal. And in his final campaign, Arsenal finished in sixth.
Wenger at Arsenal:
1235 games
707 wins
Win rate - 57.2%
3x EPL
7x FA Cup
7x Community Shield
