The number of deaths from coronavirus in Italy has surpassed 20,000, but the figure for ICU admissions has dropped yet again.
Monday’s death toll of 566 represents an increase of 135 from 24 hours ago, but 83 beds in intensive care units throughout the country have been freed up.
As of Monday, there have been 159,516 positive tests of COVID-19 (+3,153), with 103,616 of them currently active (+1,363).
A total of 35,435 people have recovered (+1,224) and 20,465 have died.
Out of the 103,616 active cases, 72,333 are in self-isolation (+1,270), 28,023 are in hospital with symptoms (+176) and 3,260 are in intensive care (-83).
There have now been 1,046,910 tests, an increase of 36,717 since yesterday.
