Juventus defender Daniele Rugani was the first Serie A player to test positive for coronavirus and his agent reveals the “quarantine period will be over soon.”
The centre-back tested positive on March 11, followed some time later by teammates Blaise Matuidi and Paulo Dybala.
“His quarantine period will be over soon, it should be over the next few days,” agent Davide Torchia told Radio Sportiva.
“We’ll find out after Easter if he’ll at least have the all-clear to leave the room where he has been staying.”
Rugani was on the bench for the final Serie A match against Inter, but did not take part in the game itself.
“He trained as normal after Juventus-Inter, then on the Tuesday his temperature went up to 37.4 and a day after that he tested positive for COVID-19. However, there were no other symptoms after that.
“It was unfortunate that he tested positive, but also fortunate that it was spotted so early and the contagion was limited.”
