Mexico legend Rafael Márquez believes that the Major League Soccer will soon be better than the Liga MX because it has a better structure and is more organized.

One of the best footballers in the history of Mexico Rafael Márquez was asked to give his opinion about the Liga MX and the Major League Soccer (MLS). His opinion is highly valued because he played in both leagues during his successful career as a soccer player.

In Márquez opinion the MLS has a better structure and it is more organized than the Liga MX. He also believes that the bosses in Mexico don’t manage the league correctly and they aren’t transparent with players, clubs and fans.

We know that the football league in Mexico is not managed correctly and for that reason we aren’t growing as we should. Other leagues like the MLS are doing the things right, they have a great structure, are transparent and very well organized,” said Márquez during an interview with Fox Sports.

His experience in MLS

Former Mexico international played in the Major League Soccer in 2010 with New York Red Bulls after being with F.C. Barcelona for 7 seasons. His arrival was considered very important because he had won many trophies in Spain and many fans were excited to see the defender in different stadiums of the United States.

Márquez was paired with Thierry Henry in New York and he played a total of 50 games, scoring one time and giving 8 assists during his time in MLS. Mexico legend also managed to qualify for the playoffs on two occasions where he lost in the quarter finals.
