Italy's coronavirus death toll surges past 2,500, with case totaling 31,506

Even as Italy’s coronavirus deaths continue to skyrocket, the rate of cases is slowing, according to health officials.
The European country reported 345 new deaths Tuesday, bringing the total to 2,503.
Officials also reported 3,526 new confirmed cases, totaling 31,506 confirmed cases.
That represents a 12.6% in cases which, while still high, is the slowest it’s been since late February.
