On this day in 2008, Torres became the first Spanish player to score a PL hat-trick in Liverpool's 3-2 win over Middlesbrough at Anfield. El Niño would go on to score 4 Premier League hat-tricks.
Two weeks later, on March 5th, 2008, he scored his second PL hat-trick in Liverpool's 4-0 thrashing over West Ham at home. He scored 24 goals from 33 appearances in that PL campaign to become the second top scorer (Cristiano Ronaldo netted 31).
Fernando Torres made 212 appearances in the Premier League for Liverpool and Chelsea, scoring 85 goals and delivered 39 assists.
