A Manchester City fan was spotted making monkey noises and gestures in the direction of Manchester United midfielder Fred in Saturday's derby.

Manchester United have confirmed Fred and Jesse Lingard reported racist abuse to them following the Manchester derby.

On Lingard's Twitter account, he said: "Not even this idiot can ruin tonight's feeling, shameful behaviour, it may be the derby but there is never ever a reason to be racist!"
