Former Man Utd player Kleberson urges club to sign Coutinho

Former Manchester United midfielder Kleberson believes the club must target Bayern Munich playmaker Philippe Coutinho to solve their lack of creativity.

The Brazilian, who played for Sir Alex Ferguson's United between 2003 and 2005, says No.10 should be a priority position for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the transfer market.

With the January window fast approaching, United have hinted that they may make up to two signings, though it's likely that Solskjaer's priority targets will not be available.

But Kleberson says Coutinho, who is on loan at Bayern from Barcelona, could be the answer, although the MEN understands he's not a current target.

“Man United have a good team, but they need a number 10 who will come in and control the game going forward," Kleberson told MEN Sport, via BonusCodeBets.co.uk .

"Someone who will create chances, control the ball and score goals where possible. Many teams in the Premier League have good players going forward, who can score goals but at the moment Manchester United don't have that.

"Philippe Coutinho would be a good option for United. I know he has struggled recently at Bayern Munich and before at Barcelona but players like him don't lose their quality. He's a brilliant player and would be a great asset for Manchester United.”
